Deputies from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) recovered an eight-foot, inflatable dinosaur wearing a Santa Claus hat and scarf, and holding a gift box after it had been stolen from outside a residence in Brooksville.

According to the HCSO, on Nov. 24, deputies responded to a call from a woman who reported that the inflatable Christmas decoration had been ostensibly stolen from her outside her residence in the neighborhood in the Arizona Street area of Brooksville.

The caller told the deputies that she had gone looking for the inflatable dinosaur as soon as she discovered that it was missing, and that she later found it hidden in the rear of another residence on the 7200 block of Arizona Street. The deputies subsequently located the inflatable dinosaur and returned it unharmed to its owner.

The incident remains under investigation.
