Autumn Resch, the curator for the museum association, was astonished when the stacks of children’s books she took to the recent Booksville Festival flew off her displays! Autumn wrote the two books to help youngsters learn the history and legends of the historic building in Brooksville. The festival was also a chance for Autumn to speak for a few minutes to an audience inside the historic Woman’s Club. She was kept busy signing the books, too, as people young and old alike sat at authentic school desks and wrote with chalk on blackboard ‘slates.’
Mrs. Resch says the books are also available on Amazon and the museum gift shops. The first-time author says, “All of the proceeds of the books go directly to benefit the Hernando Historical Museums. With this very positive response, I’m going to be writing more books!” Hernando County has such a rich history that she will have plenty to write about!
