A New Generation held its first annual Walk for Life on Saturday, March 29 at Tom Varn Park. A New Generation is committed to empowering individuals with life-affirming options related to pregnancy, sexual health and relationship decisions. The Walk for Life is one way A New Generation raises funds to continue offering all their services free of charge and full of HOPE! The morning began with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Commissioner John Allocco. Opening prayer led by A New Generation’s Board of Directors Vice-president John Murphy. Brooksville’s Mayor Crista Tanner shared how thankful she was for the work of A New Generation and then she led over 300 walkers through beautiful Tom Varn Park.
When attendees were asked why they were walking many shared that it was their opportunity to join others who value LIFE from womb to tomb. To make a public stand for LIFE. For others, the chance to walk with their children and their grandchildren was a very memorable experience.
To summarize the Walk, we asked A New Generation’s Events and Community Outreach Coordinator Nicola Barlow “What do you feel is the reason for such a successful for year? She stated, “The energy and unity of so many people walking together supporting life was truly magnificent. It was a uniquely beautiful day filled with family, faith and fun.”
A New Generation is planning to make the Walk for LIFE an annual event. For more information, please visit their website at anewgen.org or call them @352-544-0911.
