Springstead Eagles have five wins and two losses, while Nature Coast has four wins and three losses. Another Record to Fall for the Lightning This Season

By: Matthew Vandenburgh

If it wasn’t already known that Steven Stamkos has become one of the best players to ever put on a Lightning jersey, scoring career goal number 383 will help prove that point. In what has already been an exceptional season for the Tampa Bay Lightning, that high mark has been reached. With that goal total, Stamkos matched Vinny Lecavalier’s franchise record for goals scored in their career in the team’s 5-4 comeback win over the Detroit Red Wings on Thurs. March 14.

LAKELAND- As the seconds ticked down in last week’s Class 6A state semifinal between Weeki Wachee and Plantation American Heritage, the Hornets were well out of range in making any kind of comeback attempt.

Eventually losing 56-26, the Hornets knew that despite the loss to the defending Class 6A state champions, they had accomplished something no other team in Hernando County had done: reach the state’s final four.
