JUSTICES RULE MEDICAL DOCUMENTS MUST BE DISCLOSED

.THE CAPITAL, TALLAHASSEE, January 31, 2017.......... In a ruling that could have implications for medical-malpractice cases across the state, the Florida Supreme Court on Tuesday said a Jacksonville hospital system was required to provide records to a patient's family because of a 2004 constitutional amendment.

The Pasco-Hernando State College women's softball team opened their 2017 season competing against Illinois Central College and Puerto Rican National Team for a double header tournament at Eddie Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater on January 27.

Teams from all over the country participated in the JUCO Classic Tournament. It’s an opportunity to compete against a diversity of talent and build skills.

“(We) really to try to get everyone in the mix and generate a team concept,” Head Coach Ryan said.

Sports notebook: Nature Coast hires new football coach

A football team that has gone a combined 22-2 the past two seasons figured to draw plenty of interest for its head coaching vacancy.
No surprise then that Nature Coast received over 80 resumes for its opening this past month, which the school filled this week with the hiring of Kissimmee-Liberty headman Cory Johns.
“It was one of those opportunities I couldn’t pass up,” Johns said. “I’m not into bouncing around. I’m looking for a place to be for a very long time, or at least as long as they’ll keep me. This place looked like it.

DADE CITY – On Wednesday night, Nature Coast boys soccer coach Ian Wald talked about his team’s three goals for the season.
There was winning a district championship, earning the first-ever regional victory and one he refused to mention. Two nights later, he admitted that third goal was to defeat Pasco for the first time ever.
He could make that reveal following Friday’s Class 3A, District 7 final on the Pirates’ home field, when his squad dominated from start to finish in a 3-0 triumph.

BB gun assault at Pioneer Park

Two adult males battered and assaulted, with a bb gun, an adult female at Pioneer Park on Friday, January 13.

According to the police report, the victim, Dominique D. told authorities that she was battered by the two suspects Ryan Treger and Brandon Mashburn. Dominique told the responding officer that she and Treger got into a verbal altercation that led to Treger striking her and pushing her; the police report also stated that she had markings on her face and body, as well as blood from her nose accurate to her statement.

Ribbon Cutting at Eli’s Café: Hernando County celebrates a local “Home away from home”

Earlier this month, the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Spring Hill restaurant, Eli’s Café. Located in The Shoppes at Spring Hill on US 19, this restaurant is a convenient place to get a good home-cooked meal and family fun. All the food is made from scratch- absolutely nothing frozen. Many of the recipes have been handed down from owner Eli Sherman’s mother and grandmother. The cafe feature Boars Head meat and cheeses as well as a wide array of tempting breakfast and lunch delights.
