3:55PM- Mr. Zarcone was just located in Spring Hill, by one of our deputies.  He is in good health and will be reunited with his family.

Where East Jefferson Street takes a sharp left turn heading into downtown Brooksville, a stately home overlooks the vehicles that take the curve- some gingerly, others not so much and still others a little distracted by the appealing seven gabled home of Queen Anne architecture.  It’s called the May-Stringer House, well known for its rumoured spectral inhabitants and the local treasures it keeps.  

Bishop McLaughlin Freshman wins gold at State Special Olympics Swim Meet

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School freshman, Arielle Jonas, swam at the State Special Olympics Swim Meet at North County Regional Park in Sebastian, FL on October 6 & 7, 2018. Jonas won the Gold in the 50 meter Butterfly, the Silver in the 50 meter Freestyle and the Bronze in the 200 meter Medley Relay. Jonas swims for Hillsborough Co. Special Olympics Swim Team. Last year Jonas’ mother and older

LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS
• Deputies responded to:
o Missing/Endangered Adult – 11811 N. Broad Street – Joshua Bright W/M 38 YOA.
o Suicide Attempt – Cortez Boulevard and Twin Dolphin Drive/Brooksville – Male/62 YOA – Jumped in front of a dump truck.
o Structure Fire/Fatality – 2050 Laredo Avenue/Spring Hill – Firefighters located a deceased person inside the residence. Hernando County Fire Rescue handling media relations for this case.
o Skimming Devices Located – Marathon Gas Station/9202 Commercial Way/Brooksville – Active.

Too Many Corners

Three years ago I could mow the lawn in peace, with a weekly expectation that it would take me less than two hours to finish. But then my wife started watching gardening shows  Have you seen Victory Garden? Her’s is nothing like that. Have you seen the movie Labyrinth? Yeah, like that.

Voting is the civil way of settling political issues

Children understand the importance of choosing teams in an orderly manner.  Most groups choose two individuals to be captains. They use a simply way of determining who goes first to pick a team member, this is followed by the other captain choosing until all team members are selected. This is sportsmanship. This civil process eliminates potential arguments or fights.
