Four Juveniles Charged with Armed Residential Burglary and Grand Theft

On 01-30-19 just before 7 p.m., Hernando County deputies were dispatched to 13289 Sun Road in Brooksville regarding a Residential Burglary. 

Upon arrival, deputies met with the homeowner, Donald Swafford.  Swafford told deputies that sometime between 7 a.m. and 6:65 p.m. [sic] that day, unknown person(s) had burglarized his home.  During the burglary numerous items were taken, including two firearms.  Swafford also noted that at least one of the firearms had been fired during the burglary, as a fired round was located in the mattress in the master bedroom.

Financial Life Skills and Education for youth are at crisis levels. Many of these youth have never had proper guidance on establishing legitimate banking/financial management practices for their life.  This challenge is magnified by those youth who are receiving a special diploma through the school system, as most of them are struggling with educational efforts, as well as development of life skills.  

Fox Chapel Middle School Proves Science is Fun

Thursday evening, January 17, 2019 the Science department at Fox Chapel Middle School held a Parent Involvement Science Night. The purpose was to get parents to participate in their children's education, show the students practical applications of what they learned in their classes and to have fun. Taking part in the event were six science teachers, an ESE (Exceptional Student Education) teacher and a Title 1 facilitator. The team of instructors had worked for a couple of months on preparing the event.
