Crash kills two Brooksville men

Two Brooksville men are dead after the vehicles they were driving collided on US 41, Broad St. south of Twingate Ave.

According to Florida High Patrol (FHP) Public Information Officer (PIO) Sgt. Steve Gaskins, the afternoon of June 3, a 70-year-old Brooksville man driving a sedan was traveling northbound on US 41 south of Twingate Ave. and a 50-year-old Brooksville man was driving southbound on US 41 when the driver of the northbound vehicle entered the southbound lane and collided with the left side of the southbound driver’s car.

Both cars rotated on impact and came to rest on the roadway’s southbound shoulder,Gaskins said.

The driver of the northbound car died at the scene after he was ejected from his car.

The other man was transported to a local hospital where he died on June 4 from injuries that he suffered in the crash, Gaskins said.

No further information was available.
