Enrichment Centers Director’s Cut: Warm-Up America

One of the most rewarding things in life, I believe, is helping people who are less fortunate than I am. The number of families in need seems to rise every year. However, some organizations and individuals are working hard to help decrease these numbers. I am so appreciative that the Enrichment Centers Inc. of Hernando County has groups who strive to help others in one way or another. Yes, they get together regularly to fellowship, create, build friendship, and share ideas, but one of the greatest things they do is help others. We have groups such as Sewing, Rug Hooking, Crocheting, Basket Weaving, Quilting, Art, and more that focus on giving to their community. I want to take the time to focus on at least one of these groups monthly. I believe that the work they do is worthy of acknowledgment.

I want to begin this month by acknowledging the Warm-Up America group.  Warm-Up America is a group of talented ladies that meet at the Brooksville Enrichment Center every week.  They spend countless hours handcrafting their items. No project is too great or too small for these goal-oriented ladies. Once the mission is published, it’s full speed ahead! They have donated monies to local charities as well as donated handcrafted items for many years! I was blown away when I saw the beautiful beanies they crafted and donated to the NICU over at the Bayfront Health Spring Hill Hospital. This is not the only place they have donated their wonderful creations!

Throughout the years, this group of ladies has made great contributions to the following groups and or organizations: The Dawn Center, New Beginning Youth Center, Jericho Road Ministries, Veterans Hospital, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute Brooksville, Wish Tree, Bayfront Health Brooksville, monetary donations to Humane Society Hernando County, monetary donations to the Enrichment Centers of Hernando County, to name a few.

I feel proud to be connected to such awesome people who are willing to give their all to see a thankful smile on the faces of those in need.

Thank you, ladies, for all you do! We salute you!!!
