Interview with a long jump champ

How did you get into track? 

My mom put me in track because I always ran everywhere I went no matter what if she told me to go wash the dishes I was running to go do it.

Who would you credit with helping you succeed in track? 

I would like to thank my AAU coaches Jeremiah Blake, Jason Owens, and Eric Riggins and also my mom for pushing me to do better but to my coaches thank y’all for helping me get to where I am now.

Which is your favorite event in track and field? 

Long jump is honestly my favorite event because I just love jumping in the sand I instantly fell Inlove with this event as soon as I was introduced to it.

How much time do you devote to your sport? 

I devote most of my time into track but I always put school first and then track.

Are you involved in any other sports? 

I did play basketball in 7th (grade) until now but I will not be continuing this sport.  I’m going to just focus on my track career from here on out.

Do you have any role models in track or someone that inspires you? 

Sha’Carri Richardson is my inspiration. I always watch her and I also like her technique and I wanna be as fast as her one day.

Do you have plans for college yet? 

My plans for college are LSU or Florida Gators. These two schools have always been my dream schools every since I started running track.

What activities outside of track do you enjoy? 

Hanging with friends, sleeping, and eating.
