On September 11 at Lecanto High School, close to one thousand entries from all over the state participated in the annual Lecanto Invitational hosted by Lecanto High School.
The top runners for the girls were Weeki Wachee’s ninth-grader Gracy Coley clocking in at 23 minutes and 35 seconds. Gracy was followed by Nature Coast’s Ashlyn Senzig crossing the finish line at 24 minutes and 33 seconds, followed by Hernando’s Remington Lay finishing at 24 minutes and 45 seconds.
The top runners for the boys, Nature Coast Tech’s Senior Kadin Rahman who ran the 5000m in 18 minutes, followed by the Sharks Adam Rahman running in at 18 minutes and 12 seconds, followed by NCT’s Evan Kelczewski crossing the finish line at 18 minutes and 26 seconds.
