Weeklong arts market begins Dec. 11

A lush, decorative art exhibit always serves as a pleasure and benefit to those who behold it as well as the artists themselves.

A weeklong marketplace of artists and handmade exhibitors is being presented at the Brooksville Welcome Center Hall located at 205 E. Fort Dade Ave, Brooksville. Brooksville Main Street will present Christmas with the Arts, an arts exhibit, and a Christmas arts market open and free to the public, December 11 – 19, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily.

“It is an extraordinary opportunity to find those one of a kind gifts this season!” reads a related news release. Indeed art and gifts to suit every taste are on display and up for offer at Christmas with the Arts.

“Christmas with the Arts currently has several artists specializing in polymer clay, wire weaving, resin, beading, wood pens, pine needle baskets, gourds, painted boards, and metal sculptures,” said Tina Marie Polson, Events & Marketing Coordinator at Brooksville Main Street. Yet the event also presides as a gift for the artist, explains Natalie Kahler, Brooksville Main Street Executive Director. “The intent is to help these vendors,” she said. “because so many events have been canceled that it has been difficult for them to sell their product.”

A Christmas With the Arts 10×10 space is costing the presenting artists just $11 per day. Set up on Dec. 11, the booth will stay posted the entire duration of the event in a locked and secured facility.

“For Christmas with the Arts a vendor can reserve a 10×10 space inside the Brooksville Welcome Center from December 11-19,” said Kahler. “It will be open 10-5 daily and the vendor can man it themselves or we will handle their sales for them.”

Artists featured at Christmas With the Arts include Jody Bruce, Esther Hayden, David Zeller, Pamela Herring, and Sal Gullo.

“I run a homegrown arts business, and it’s nice to have a public place to share my wares,” said Gullo, who counts incense burners and sculptures, handmade flatware, and figurines among gift items he’ll have up for offer at Christmas With the Arts. “Hernando County is supporting the arts by giving us this venue.” Polson agrees; “It’s a great opportunity for both artist exposure,” said Polson, “as well as shoppers looking for those ‘one of a kind’ gifts.”
