Spring Hill Man Arrested with 476 Grams of Marijuana

On 08-28-18 at approximately 10:20 p.m., deputies responded to Lake in the Woods Drive in Spring Hill in reference to a report of suspicious persons near the Lake in the Woods tennis courts.

Dispatchers were advised there were two vehicles in the area and that the caller had just witnessed a possible drug deal go down.

When deputies arrived on scene, they were able to locate one of the suspicious vehicles.

A lieutenant pulled his vehicle up alongside the suspicious vehicle so he could speak to the driver.

HCSO to conduct training for Civilian Response to Active Shooter

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office will be hosting an information session on Civilian Response to Active Shooter.  
Events in recent years have called attention to the need to be prepared for a wide range of emergencies. Communities across the country have reassessed their level of preparedness and established broader training and education programs. At the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, deputies have been training for years to respond to an active shooter incident, training that is routinely reinforced with exercises.

HCSO Community Alert: Fraudulent Use of Credit Card

The subject pictured fraudulently used a stolen credit card to make a withdrawal from the ATM at Sunoco located at 7170 Barclay Ave., Spring Hill on Saturday, 05/26/2018. The suspect was seen leaving in the pictured silver pick-up truck.

Detective Irene Gray is conducting the investigation.  Call 352-754-6830 to speak with law enforcement about this incident. 

Hit and Run in Murphy's Market parking lot in Spring Hill

The Sheriff's Office has issued a Community Alert for the perpetrators of a hit and run at the Murphy's Market parking lot on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at "approximately 4:43pm."  The Murphy's Market store is located at  3483 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill. The couple pictured were spotted leaving in the truck.

Vice and Narcotics Search Warrant results in drug bust

WEEKI WACHEE- On 07-06-18, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics Unit and the SWAT team executed a search warrant at 14427 Mocking Wren Road, Brooksville.

Investigation revealed that two of the residents, Ryan and Michelle Fenters, were involved in the sale of illegal narcotics.

During the search of the residence, detectives located the following:

        5.8 grams of Dilaudid
        3.6 grams of methadone
        One firearm
        $1,610 in U.S. currency.
