Christmas on the Florida Frontier

Step back in time to a simpler era of celebrating Christmas on the Florida Frontier. Join us as we make and play with homemade toys,
create corn husk dolls, do soap carving, learn the art of punch tin crafts, dip candles, listen to old time music, square dance, sing carols, decorate a Christmas tree, make Christmas crafts, and visit a soldier’s far-from-home encampment. Participants will get to
sample holiday frontier treats and buy refreshments from vendors.
Cost is $5 per vehicle for up to 8 people. Extra passengers, walk-ins and bicyclists: $2 each. For more information, please call 352-793-4781

ABOUT US

The Hernando Sun is a locally owned weekly newspaper. The founders of the newspaper are Rocco and Julie Maglio. They saw the need for a newspaper when the Hernando Today newspaper closed their doors in 2014. Rocco is from Hernando, he went to school from Moton Elementary through Hernando High. Growing up in Hernando enhances his ability to provide background to ongoing issues. The Hernando Sun Printed their first issue in March 2015. They published monthly for a year before increasing to a weekly printing. The newspaper is delivered through the US mail, so it arrives with your mail.
