Citrus County Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s Drumming Circle
Joe and Vanessa Fuller Brown of Rhythm United will host a drumming circle to kick off Citrus County Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 15th, 2022. Walk participants are invited to participate in drumming from 8 to 9 a.m., before the opening ceremonies for the Walk.
Event organizer Debbie Selsavage states, “We are thrilled that Rhythm United will kick off our event with some excitement and good energy that will surely create a positive mood.” Selsavage adds, “We will also have live music. Since both drumming and music are some of the best therapy for people living with dementia, they will provide an appropriate opening for the event.”
Citrus Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s will take place at the Floral City Town Center at 8370 E. Orange Avenue. On site registration begins at 8:00 with opening ceremonies starting at 9:00 a.m. Walks along the Withlacoochee State Trail or through the Floral City Historical District will begin at 9:30. An award ceremony will take place at 11:00 with the event concluding before noon.
Individuals and walking teams can participate in the Walk for a donation of only $20 per person. In addition to registration the morning of the event, individuals can pre-register on line at https://challenge.dementiaedu.org.
