Gopher Tortoise Day Talk and Walk

Join us for a fun and educational morning celebrating gopher tortoises on Friday, April 7th from 10am-Noon in honor of Gopher Tortoise Day. Starting at 10am, there will be a talk and presentation given by a Gopher Tortoise Biologist. After the talk (around 11am), participants are welcome to join us as we use burrow scopes to discover what’s in gopher tortoise burrows near the center. In the past we’ve seen gopher frogs, gopher tortoises, and plenty of insects, but there could be any of 300+ different species in the burrows!
This event is intended for adults and families, but may not appeal to young children.
