State grant for building department generator

Through this program, Hernando County will purchase and install a generator at the Building Department on Providence Boulevard which will help to ensure continuity of critical systems and operations in the event of a loss of power.
Brings in $160,558.50 from a federal cost share
Building department must match 25% or $53,519.50

Money MATTERS

Revenue Projection for 2020
City Manager Mark Kutney said the review process is ongoing and there are some changes and additions that are pending. Interim Finance Director Autumn Sullivan said she used the good faith estimate for ad valorem taxes. Except for communication tax, all the state revenue figures have been received. 
Kemerer asked about the revenue from Duke Energy and electric public service taxes. The budget appears to run up to $130,000 under the revenue.  Sullivan agreed to review the figures.

Consideration of proposed resolution and Assessment Report for FY 2020 Fire Protection Non-Ad Valorem Assessment Study  (Resolution No. 2019-06)

The votes on this resolution did not pass any changes to the fire assessment methodology, only to approve the reports presented and schedule a public hearing.

Parks and Recreation Month, July 2019 – Bernardini read the proclamation which praised the Parks Department facilities and opportunities. Administrative Assistant Dodie Barger accepted the proclamation. Barger said the Parks Department was proud that Hernando Sun readers recognized the work of staff members and voted Tom Varn Park as the top park in Hernando County.
