Brooksville Man Arrested in Connection with Mobile Home Park Burglaries


During the month of June, a total of six Residential Burglaries were reported by residents living in the Braewood Mobile Home Park in Brooksville.

The residential burglaries were reported between 06-05-2020 to 06-18-2020.

All six residences were unoccupied at the time of the burglaries.

On 06-19-2020, a burglary victim, upon returning home and examining his residence, reported finding various items within the home that did not belong to him. Those items included a cell phone and a bag filled with various narcotics.

Oak Hill Hospital Announces New Temporary Visitor Policy Effective June 30

Brooksville, Florida -  (June 29, 2020) – Oak Hill Hospital is implementing a new visitor policy on Tuesday, June 30, 2020,  as a result of the increase in the community spread of COVID-19 in Hernando County.  No visitors will be permitted for admitted inpatients to help ensure the safety of our patients and caregivers (limited exceptions noted below). The policy is as follows:

   Item: I just discovered I have creepey neck skin.  (I prefer to spell it creepey.)  I was giving myself a headcut (the proper term for both scalp and face) and was trimming the two-months’ worth of longish hairs on my neck when suddenly my Wahl barber shears nicked me right above my Adam’s apple.  Thinking it was my fault, that I’d pushed too hard, I continued and again felt the sting of nipped skin.  Now absolutely sure it was Wahl’s fault—I needed to buy a new set of sheers—I reangled the cutting edge and very, very carefully drew blood a third time.

'Dino' is one step closer to becoming a national landmark

A community fixture is one step closer to becoming a national landmark. And for the massive, highly animated fella known as "Dino," every step is a big one!

The building located at 5299 Commercial Way in Spring Hill takes the shape of a dinosaur character known as Dino, an "Apatosaurus" that stands 47 feet tall and is 110 feet long. And Dino is now on the fast track in its nomination for listing in the National Register of Historic Places; an official list of the Nation's historical sites deemed worthy of preservation.
