Louisiana Man Arrested on Numerous Sex Charges Involving Teen

Date: September 29, 2020

On 09-27-2020 at 4 p.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in Spring Hill where the parents of a teenager found an adult man hiding in their child’s bedroom.

When deputies arrived on scene they found the man, later identified as Johnathan Lee Rossmoine DOB/08-19-1984, still hiding in the victim’s closet.

That’s an average of 1,500 boxes per week. And Metropolitan Ministries currently cooks 3,000 hot grab-and-go meals every day and distributes them throughout Tampa Bay through 30 partner organizations. The Covid-19 virus has forced the modernization of three of the most populous ancient religions. The extent of the change will be the most evident so far in Judaism, the oldest of the faith groups which trace their origins to the Biblical patriarch Abraham, when the Jewish High Holy Days begin at sundown Friday (Sept. 18).

Even the shofar (a hollowed-out ram’s horn played something like a bugle) will be wearing a mask during the traditional Rosh Hashana (New Year) service in many synagogues usually crowded with among the largest number of worshipers of the year.

BOCC rejects BRW Bid

At the regular meeting on September 8, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners rejected BRW Contracting’s (BRW) bid on the resurfacing of Snow Hill Road and Jones Road. Despite being the lowest bidder, a verified history of fraud and unsatisfactory work on the Osowaw Blvd resurfacing project was the top reason for the unanimous decision.

Conservation of Mud Springs Property through DEP Partnership

At the September 8, 2020 regular meeting, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved the submission of the Mud Springs Management Prospectus to the Department of Environmental Protection Division of State Lands.

Mud Springs is the head spring of the Mud River located just north of the Weeki Wachee River.  The Mud River joins with the Weeki Wachee and then flows into the Gulf of Mexico.

City of Brooksville Ad Valorem Millage Rate Approved at 5.9000 in final hearing

On Sept. 16, 2020 city council members approved the ad valorem millage rate of 5.9000 which will result in a tax decrease for the citizens of the city.  This millage rate is a 2.30% decrease over the current year’s rolled–back rate of 6.0389. The final vote was 3-2 approving the millage rate with council members Betty Erhard and Kemerer voting against it.  Erhard adamantly disapproved of the $22,000 in funding going to the Brooksville Main Street organization.  There were several citizen comments against the BMS funding as well.
