Nicholas Morana Delivers Keynote Speech at Brooksville's Veteran's Celebration

WWII Veteran Nick Morana (US Army 1944 - 80) gave the keynote speech at the Veterans Celebration in Brooksville on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  Beginning with a lighthearted acknowledgement of his family members in attendance, Morana gave the following short, but eloquent speech of gratitude to his fellow veterans:

Thanksgiving Turkey Hunting

Ya know, we eat turkey more often at Thanksgiving than we do at Easter, yet the majority of hunters still see turkey hunting as a spring-only pursuit.  In fact, many of those hunters will tell you that the fall hunt is boring, though they more than likely haven’t even tried it.  To them, turkey hunting is all about the gobble and the excitement of the wild turkey’s breeding season.  The shame of it is, they are really missing out on some great hunting and even greater education about those big beautiful birds we all love so much!

Has Thanksgiving Gone to the Dogs?

February 16, 2019, my husband Jim went to be with the Lord.  To say we were inseparable through our long, successful albeit stressful marriage is an understatement. Jim was a faithful husband, a good dad, and a hard-working business owner. He sternly in some cases helped me raise our four children to be loving, kind, respectful, and responsible adults. When they all married we were there standing proudly to watch them embark on their new and exciting journeys. When they had their children we were as happy as if those babies were our own children.
