A free Concert and Family Picnic at Brooksville Iconic Bandshell​

Celebrate America with your family, friends, and neighbors on July 4, at Brooksville’s iconic bandshell, capped by a thrilling concert by our own Hernando County Symphony Orchestra.
From 4 – 8 pm, the Hernando County Fine Arts Council will sponsor an afternoon of old-fashioned fun and games complete with a petting zoo, storytelling, food, and other vendors. Pre-concert entertainment by Live Oak Theatre Company, Memories Quartet, Vicki Roush, and Al Chance. There is no admission charge, bring the entire family!
Join us at Brooksville bandshell, Hernando Park, 205 East Fort Dade Avenue, on Wednesday, July 4. There will be a special acknowledgment of our veterans and plenty of time to get to the fireworks display after a day of fun and music. The Celebrate America! concert and neighborhood party is sponsored by the Hernando County Fine Arts Council and the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs. July 4th Machine Gun Shoot at the Hernando Sportsman’s Club

Come celebrate the 4th of July with a bang!
The Hernando Sportsman’s Club is sponsoring a Machine Gun Shoot on July 4th, from 9:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.!
Several cars, trucks, and assorted targets will be destroyed!
This event is held on our 200-yd range. Besides the old cars and trucks, we usually have old washing machines, bowling pins, and various targets to shoot for fun at various distances.
Rifles and pistols are allowed also!   No need to feel left out if you don’t have a machine gun. Bring your favorite rifle for a chance to shoot out some old cars!
 Admission entry fee is $20 per shooter. First come-first serve. No tracers or incendiary ammo. Must be 18 years old to shoot.
Spectator admission is $2, with kids under 15 free with adult.
Please be sure to bring eye and hearing protection, even for spectators.

Firecracker Smash ‘M Up

Come out for a day of crafts, games, The Brick University Lego Display with Playstation, live music, great food, bounce houses and pony rides. Activities start at 4 pm. Derby starts at 7 pm. Fireworks to follow derby. Bring chairs and blankets to watch.

Hernando County’s Only 4th of July Parade
Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 9:00 am
Parade participation and attendance are open to all residents and organizations of Hernando County by golf cart, walking, bike, truck, van or car, bands, music, floats, dance groups, etc., or just come and watch.
Prizes are given in 9 categories for best decorations!
Parade will start at 9:00 am at High Point Blvd., just beyond the Community Information Booth, travel left down High Point Blvd. to Club House Road, and right on Club House Road to the Community Center located at 12249 Club House Road.
Following the Parade, the American Legion Post 186 Color Guard will post the Colors in front of the Community Center. Refreshments will be served in the Community Center following the Color Guard service. Buy raffle tickets for the Patriotic Outdoor Bench, or a number of gift cards donated by local merchants. Call High Point Community Property Owners at 352-596-2397 for a parade entry form, or to donate a raffle gift certificate.

American Family Celebration at Great Life Church

American Family Celebration is having their annual 4th of July outreach where thousands of people attend to watch the biggest fireworks show around. Invite someone and join them for this unforgettable summer night. They will also have Eric Riggins and and his team at Smoking Good Barbecue and Catering Services, plus several other FOOD TRUCKS, Music, American themed activities, fun for KIDS, Families, everyone. Freedom Family Festival
On Wednesday, July 4th from 10 AM – 2 PM, there will be activities – water slides, obstacle course, etc. Lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs will be served at 12 PM in the gym. Please bring a dish (salad or dessert) to share. Also, we will have our annual “Blue Ribbon Pie Contest” so bring your best pie to enter! Lastly, sign up at the Welcome Center so we know you are coming!

This is live music fireworks spectacular set at lakeside parks, Liberty and Wallace Brooks, which are adjoined by the Withlacoochee State Trail. The best in regional food trucks and local charities will open at 5 p.m., and Cone Beer sales will open in Liberty Park only. Join the Mayor, Inverness City Council and the Nature Coast Young Marines for opening ceremony at 6:30 p.m. At the main stage, Rhythm Express will bring the funk at 7 p.m. playing the best in R&B, Pop, Funk, Blues and Motown. The fireworks display will begin over Lake Henderson at approximately 9 p.m. Please leave pets and coolers at home.
