Golf Tournament to Benefit HPH Hospice

Not very long ago, Patrick Hramika was a hospice patient.  Given a terminal diagnosis, and perhaps a year to live, Hramika and his family made arrangements with the HPH Hospice for his care during that time.

The remarkable part of Hramika’s story is; few hospice patients make a full recovery and go on to lead a charity golf tournament to benefit their local hospice.

An avid golfer, Hramika returned to the game after his absence by practicing at Blue Tees International, and later returned to one of his several leagues that played at Hernando Oaks.    “It built my confidence back up, it built my strength back up, and it’s to the point now where I have to do something for Hospice.”

Hramika has been busy assembling a team to organize the benefit, which so far includes his business partner, Tony Mosca and some members of the Rivard Golf Club.  So far, they have a 50-50 raffle in place, and plans for a Duck Pluck.

Duck Pluck, you ask?  $10 buys you a duck, and you and your duck are assigned a secret number.  At various intervals throughout the contest period, an independent duck-plucker will net a duck.  If your duck gets plucked, you’re the winner!

A handicap will be required to keep the tournament as competitive as possible.

On Saturday, December 7, 2019, the Inaugural Tournament of Love will be held at Rivard Golf Club to directly benefit the HPH Hospice.   The day begins with a shotgun start at 9:30 AM. Following golf, the group will convene at the Tropics RV Park Clubhouse for food and refreshments, more contests, and possibly more Duck Plucking.  A pool table will be available, and a tournament could break out on this “green” as well.
