It’s going to be another good time! And one, many of us here in the area, has been looking forward to attending again this year! So mark your calendars for Friday, December 11th when gates open at 5:30 PM rain or shine-and get ready for another thrilling Florida Cracker Christmas featuring the celebrated Bellamy Brothers!   The event will take place at the popular Florida Cracker Kitchen Restaurant, 966 E. Jefferson Street, Brooksville, Main Street; they will be teaming up with Operation Heart F.E.L.T. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies) to benefit students and their siblings of Hernando County in need of nutritious meals. The meals will be provided on weekends, holidays and extended school breaks for those who may go hungry otherwise.  Heart F.E.L.T. is a non-profit organization who believes “every child deserves the advantage good nutrition provides for physical, emotional and intellectual development,” said Blair Hensley, contact person, and part-owner of the Florida Cracker Kitchen Restaurant where the event will be held in their outside amphitheater. The unique restaurant, a well-known downtown eatery has been in business for seven years and is frequented by those who love not only a scrumptious meal but also for its warm and friendly atmosphere, and of course its special events.  Operation Heart F.E.L.T. was developed in December, of 2009.  The non-profit organization has served over 260,000 meals to children in Hernando County.  It is a 100% volunteer program put together by some wonderful people who give of their time freely to help make this worthwhile operation tick. Generously, 99.2% of all monetary donations go toward the purchase of food for the children.

A perfect evening has been planned for the patrons of the timeless and celebrated brothers-David and Howard Bellamy who are our own Florida homegrown, Pasco County neighbors. They will be appearing with special guest hit singer, songwriter, Darryl Worley, and additionally opening for the Bellamy Brothers, will be singer-songwriter JT Curtis who hails from another neighboring town, Dade City.  Promising to be a memorable evening with a full of country music and these fantastic entertainers, this event is sure to be a sell-out soon.  Don’t forget the concert will go to benefit exclusively our precious children of the county. Get your tickets online at www.eventbrite.com and search “Florida Cracker Christmas.”  General Admission is $35 and don’t forget it is recommended you bring your own chairs. Tickets are on sale now, better hurry before you’re too late. Don’t forget, Heart F.E.L.T. can always use your donations whether you can attend the concert or not but don’t miss it if you can!

Renowned singers and songwriters, Howard, 74, and David, 70, Bellamy have lived in Darby, Florida, in Pasco County all of their lives; the pair have been sought after as entertainers for almost 50 years, and not only in the United States but all over the world!  They have had one of the longest and most successful careers in history!  They are truly National treasures!  Still going strong to this day, the two continue to perform 70-80 gigs a year. Now that is more than remarkable for men in their seventies!

Through their many years of fame and fortune, the pop/soul/country stars have enjoyed a never-ending spotlight together, sharing the limelight that only dreams are made of;  and deservedly so.  Young and old alike know who the Bellamy Brothers are! The talented duo has acquired 20 #1, single hit records, and cut more than 50 albums which brought them a total of 50 hits. Who can forget, “Let Your Love Flow,” a 1976 smash hit, or the super 1979 double entendre love song, “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” the song that had us all snickering behind our hands? This bold and steamy vocal brought them profound recognition in the music world and #1 on the country charts. An earlier song “Spiders And Snakes” written by David Bellamy in 1973 for Jim Stafford became one of the three top pop songs of the year. Kids loved this song, and I’ll bet as seasoned adults now they still remember the words to this catchy, cute ditty. Other songs that made it big were: “Redneck Girl,” “For All The Wrong Reasons” and “Do You Love As Good As You Look” all number one singles-just to name a few. Gosh, Florida is lucky to call these wonderful performers ours!
