In an abundance of caution, the Hernando County Parks & Recreation Department will temporarily close Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park, located at 10840 Pine Island Drive near Hernando Beach, at noon on Saturday, June 6 through Sunday, June 7, 2020 due to forecasted weather conditions.

For coastal Hernando County, there is potential for two to four feet of storm surge above ground level on Saturday night into Sunday morning, especially at times of high tide. Residents are encouraged to stay informed and monitor local media outlets, the National Weather Service and visit www.HernandoCounty.us/EM for more information on how to refresh your emergency supply kit.

Contact Hernando County Parks and Recreation at (352) 754-4031 should you have any questions.
