A Great Day in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- Saturday morning July 25 promised to be a good day. It was hot, it was humid, but it was nice to see that everybody was able to gather and take the responsibility at a sporting event to follow the rules without panic.

The building that is home to the Gladden Boxing Club does not dominate the skyline, but it does stand out as a place where great things are being provided for this community.

Champions of the Community

SPRING HILL, Fla. --- They are looking for a name for their team but under the summer sky of July, these four young gladiators greeted each other with laughter, with plenty of fist bumps and a show of respect for the work that they each have put behind them.

This group of boxers who were not yet attached to any gym worked together at perfecting their craft. They dance around the ring, throwing calculated punches with the hope that one punch lands on their target with enough devastating power that leaves their opponent wondering.

What kind of truck just hit them!

Got hit hard.

DUNEDIN, Fla. --- Well got hit hard, so very hard by a virus that hit so hard but not hard enough (that’s good!).

Recuperating from a serious bug that’s only job was to finish me off, but with the hard work of the doctor, medicine and what the doctor described as a “tough old bird!” he says, ``I am going to make it!”

Trying to beat away this virus, there were some things that were missed on the road to recovery.

NCT finishes in seventh place

Well it was a win!

Nature Coast Tech High School finished in seventh place at the Seventh Annual Nature Coast Christmas Tournament being played inside the gymnasium on campus from Dec. 27-29, three days of basketball games and three different lessons for the Sharks to learn.

Winning by coming back from a 10 point deficit against Tampa Jefferson High School and winning 45-41, was pleasing to Nature Coast High School basketball coach Dave Pisarcik and to the fans that woke up early Sunday Dec. 29, 2019.

Weeki Wachee takes 2019 Corey Hill Memorial Wrestling Tournament Championship

SPRING HILL, Fla. --The doors opened early Saturday morning, the bleachers unfolded and those seats filled up quickly with wrestlers and family members waiting to honor the fallen wrestler, the fifth annual Corey Hill Invite Wrestling Tournament with three mats rolled out, waiting for wrestling action.

NCT Begins the Holiday on a Happy Note

Inside the Shark Zone, Friday night December 20, Nature Coast Tech High School went to work at the start of the game against Weeki Wachee High School and got the job completed to begin the vacation season with a special feeling.

In the spirit of the holiday, Nature Coast Tech High School unwrapped the Hornets 62-30, overcoming the disappointing 45-33 loss against Wesley Chapel High School, Tuesday Dec. 17 and improving the overall record 5-2. Nature Coast Tech High School basketball coach Dave Pisarcik said there is still plenty of work for the Sharks to complete.
