A Super Bowl rematch hopes to bring about another classic

The U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Super Bowl LII will be held.

The ambiance is evident, regardless of location in America. The drinks and food are being prepared, and in just five short days, the world will be tuned in to NBC to watch the biggest event of the year, the Super Bowl. Emanating from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the second-year stadium has proven to have its share of big moments, none so bigger than the Minnesota Miracle just two weeks ago, when Stephon Diggs caught a 61-yard game-winning touchdown pass from Vikings quarterback Case Keenum to stun the visiting New Orleans Saints.

Another Amazing celestial event

By HERNANDO SUN STAFF

In the early morning hours of Jan. 31, 2018, there will be a rare opportunity for skywatchers to see the second full moon of January — a Blue Moon — become totally eclipsed.

According to NASA, the event is a "Super Blue Blood Moon," as it will happen near when the moon is at its closest point to Earth, a so-called "supermoon." A blood moon is more accurately known as a total lunar eclipse. When the moon is closer to the Earth in its orbit, it appears about 15 percent brighter.

More than 160 countries celebrate Christmas although some may call it by another name, as in Uruguay and Angola where it is called Family Day. However, it should be noted that not all Christian faiths observe Christmas including Quakers, Jehovah’s Witnesses and members of the Church of Christ.

Touring Florida State Capitol

by Melissa Fordyce SPECIAL TO HERNANDO SUN

Want to learn about our state government and history? Instead of reading about it in a book, take a day to explore the Florida State capitol in Tallahassee.
On a recent vacation, we had the opportunity to spend a few hours in the state’s capital and it allowed my kids to experience a little of our state history as well as learn how our state came about.
