Summer Volleyball: Nature Coast Tech brings in alumni, current players for camp

Summer is for summer camps, and as fall sports are less than a month away, the opportunity to build athletic skills in coordination and defining fundamental structure is essential for the growth of any athlete at any age. Nature Coast Tech and Springstead opened their gyms over the summer to offer volleyball camps for middle school students.

Mack Meyers is on her way to Florida Gateway College

Spring sports are in full bloom this time of year and amidst the exciting games and rivalries, some amazing opportunities are popping up as well. In fact on March 24, volleyball player Mackenzie Meyers from Hernando Christian Academy signed her letter of intent to Florida Gateway College in Lake City.  The Hernando Christian lion has worked hard to get where she is, she trains about 4 out of 7 days of the week and she's been playing for about 5 years now. She also has team practice two days of the week and does weight training and cardio two other days.

From the Court to the Sand

Lady Eagles are building communication and trust as their sand volleyball season is in full swing.


Spring Hill, Fla.-- Springstead volleyball players are going through a transition from being indoors playing on a hard court to being outdoors in the clear blue skies playing on soft sand. The overall experience is more than just digging ten toes into the sand; it is also about building a partnership.

Making Sports History!

Springstead and Weeki Wachee High School have each added a new sport into their girls’ athletic program. Springstead inducted sand volleyball into their athletic offerings, and Weeki Wachee added girls’ flag football.

Weeki Wachee High School has put girls’ flag football within the athletic department for the Spring 2020 season.

PHSC volleyball season ends

AVON PARK, Fla. --- It was a great game to start this year’s Florida College System Activities Association Volleyball Tournament - it was entertaining!

For all the tears that have fallen, all the wounds that have healed, floor burns that used to hurt and the puddles of sweat that have gathered and growing on the floor, the drama of the Sun-Lake Conference Volleyball Tournament was everything that Pasco Hernando State College desired except for the result.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. ---- Keep the music playing, Nature Coast Tech High School volleyball team wants to keep on dancing!

Outside the gym the streets were busy with fire trucks speeding down the road answering the alarm for help. Inside the gym on the campus of Nature Coast Tech High School the temp was rising and so were the Sharks out on the court.

NCT volleyball advances to regional semifinal

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. ---- It was emotional, there was plenty of drama and it was everything a regional quarter final volleyball tournament game could offer to the very loud crowd inside the gymnasium on the campus of Nature Coast Tech High School to enjoy.

Facing their in-county rival Weeki Wachee High School at home, Thursday October 24, the Sharks put together a combination of great rallies, well-played defense and defeated the Hornets 3-1, ending the Weeki Wachee High School volleyball season.

After Springstead’s win against River Ridge on Monday for the 5A District 5 quarter-finals, the Eagles proceeded to play Lecanto, slotted in the number 2 spot within the 5A District.

Springstead lost to Lecanto 25-17 | 25-19 | 25-20 in the 5A District 5 semi-finals.

Tuesday's 4A District 6 Semi-Finals held at Nature Coast Tech brought many cheers and a few tears.
