On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, members of the Rotary Club of Spring Hill paid a visit to the PAW Warriors cat shelter to present two checks to Tracie Steger, founder of the organization. One check was for $400 from the Rotary Club itself. The other was a check for $100 from the Interact Club, under the direction of Ms. Ronica Guerrier, at Springstead High School, which the Rotary Club of Spring Hill sponsors.
TAMPA, Florida - (December 10, 2020) – HCA West Florida is now offering Bamlanivimab antibody infusions at four hospitals to non-hospitalized patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and have other high-risk factors. The first patient received the treatment on December 9 at St. Petersburg General Hospital.

When the Train Depot on Russell Street in Brooksville opened in 1885, it became a hub of shipping and receiving some of those gifts. Hernando County was a large producer of citrus between devastating freezes. Tangerines were the big seller. In 1933, Senator Hugh Hale sent a box of Brooksville tangerines to President Elect Franklin Roosevelt while he was in Warm Springs, GA.
The Weeki Wachee Capacity Study Working Group was formed earlier this year to address problems along the Weeki Wachee River. Led by County Administrator Jeff Rogers, the group seeks to repair damage to the river’s banks and vegetation, reportedly caused by human traffic.
Brooksville, FL: New 4-H Archery Club for youth ages 8-18 beginning January 2021
SPRING HILL/ST. LEO – Laela Ouellette, a 2018 graduate of Springstead High School in Spring Hill, Hernando County, has been named the first ACES (Awarding Career Educators in STEM) Scholar at Saint Leo University. Ouellette, now 20, is a junior at Saint Leo, majoring in biology with a minor in secondary education.
Darlene LeBlanc, 61, is a migraine sufferer.
“A migraine is not ‘just a headache’ as many people who have never had a migraine seem to think,” said Darlene LeBlanc who lives in Spring Hill. Darlene has suffered from migraines since she was in her twenties. Her mother suffered too and now her two daughters, Shannon (27) and Lauren (32) are also experiencing the discomfort of migraines.
