Sheriff's Vice and Narcotics Detectives Seize Illegal Narcotics

On 05-08-20 in the early morning hours, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the HCSO SWAT team, executed a Search Warrant at 9226 Dan Lynn Street in Brooksville.

Detectives received information regarding the distribution of illegal narcotics occurring at this residence.

Investigation revealed, the resident, Tommy Owens, was in fact selling illegal narcotics from the residence.

TALLAHASSEE --- Coronavirus hair can soon be professionally snipped.

Gov. Ron DeSantis posted a video Friday featuring Orlando barbershop owner John Henry, who announced that starting Monday, barbershops, hair salons and nail salons will be allowed to reopen in most of the state after being shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Nine Individuals Arrested in Connection with Brooksville Storage Unit Burglary

On 04-20-20, Hernando County sheriff's deputies responded to ABCD Self Storage located at 26367 Cortez Boulevard in reference to a Commercial Burglary.
One of the tenants reported that his storage unit was burglarized.

Once inside the unit, the suspects removed a large gun safe containing numerous firearms, cash, and the victim's personal identification. No other storage units were targeted by the burglars.

In 2016, it was determined the victim suffered from both physical and mental impairments which led to a lack of self-care and the inability to handle his own finances. 
In July of 2016, a Power of Attorney was appointed to oversee the victim's personal and financial matters; however, the victim continued to live in his own home.  In mid-2017, the victim was no longer able to live alone and moved in with the suspect, Joan Marie Procida Milligan.
