The City Council of the City of Brooksville will hold a Public Hearing in the Joseph E. Johnston, III, City Hall Council Chambers, 201 Howell Avenue, Brooksville, Florida. Second and Final Reading of Ordinance No. 931 will be held July 6, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. The Ordinance may be obtained in the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, 201 Howell Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601, or by calling the City Clerk at 352-540-3816.

TITLE:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA, FURTHER AMENDING THE CITY OF BROOKSVILLE FIREFIGHTERS’ RETIREMENT TRUST FUND, ADOPTED PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 525-I, AS SUBSEQUENTLY AMENDED; AMENDING SECTION 1, DEFINITIONS; AMENDING SECTION 6, BENEFIT AMOUNTS AND ELIGIBILITY; AMENDING SECTION 7, PRE-RETIREMENT DEATH; AMENDING SECTION 8, DISABILITY; AMENDING SECTION 10, OPTIONAL FORMS OF BENEFITS; AMENDING SECTION 15, MAXIMUM PENSION; AMENDING SECTION 16, MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION OF BENEFITS; AMENDING SECTION 28, DEFERRED RETIREMENT OPTION PLAN; AMENDING SECTION 29, PRIOR FIRE SERVICE; ADDING SECTION 30, SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFIT COMPONENT FOR SPECIAL BENEFITS; CHAPTER 175 SHARE ACCOUNTS; PROVIDING FOR COMPLIANCE WITH CHAPTER 2019-21, LAWS OF FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THE SECURE ACT; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY OF PROVISIONS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Any person desiring to appeal any decision with respect to any matter considered at this meeting may need a record of the proceedings including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, and, therefore, must make arrangements for a court reporter to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made.
