Setting up for the Count Down

Back in 2001 Jennifer Mclaren first stepped out the Palace Grand as a new bride. Fourteen years later she is now the Business Manager.

Inside you are greeted with a huge buffet. The dining area tables are filled with party hats and assorted party favors. Hundreds of balloons are netted and awaiting for the stroke of midnight to drop from the ceiling. “We have the largest and best selling New Year’s Eve party in all three counties,” Mclaren said.

From the first year, when her parents took over the business back in 2012, the goal was to bring in as many tickets as possible; however that plan became too crowded for all patrons to really enjoy the entertainment and celebrations. They decided to cut the ticket availability from 400 to 275. “I rather have a smaller crowd who is loyal and wants to come back every year,” Mclaren said. That decision was a huge seller. “Our patrons loved it. It’s our favorite day of the year.”

The Palace Grand entertainers bringing in the 2016 new year include The Crests with lead singer Tommy Mara, who is not only the owner of the Palace Grand but Jennifer’s fabulous father. Also, Nature Coast Entertainment Services will get attendees in the dancing mood! There will be a photo booth, projection screen, balloon drop at midnight, buffet, champagne toast and breakfast to go!

Palace Grand offers more than just an all-out New Year’s Eve Party; another big event is their Bridal Show in February, and a ladies favorite: The Men of Rock Male Revue.
As far as ending the 2015 year, Jennifer Mclaren continues to strive behind the desk at Palace Grand; she is always seeking new ways to bring the community the best venue for events and entertainment.

“I love the hometown feeling of Hernando. This is where my life is and I couldn’t see it any other way. We love it here,” Mclaren said.
