Marjorie "Marge" T. Gorbett

Marjorie “Marge” T. Gorbett, longtime resident of Brooksville passed away on December 30, 2020 at the youthful age of 90.  She was born in Windsor Vermont on March 4 1930 to the late Frank E. and Cecelia Smythe Davis.  She grew up in Cleveland Ohio and graduated from Villa Angela Academy.  Marge's devotion to her Catholic faith was unprecedented and she took much comfort in the nightly prayer of the rosary.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Roy Gorbett Jr and is survived by her five children Karen Gorbett (Steve) Rockville Maryland, Robert R Gorbett III (Mary) Woodbury Connecticut, Sue Runion (Lee Roy) Hastings FL, Nancy Dooley (Sean) Daytona Beach FL, Dianne Swain (Rick) Brooksville FL, sister-in-law Sandy (Piermatteo) Davis, Gulph Mills PA, eight grandchildren Veronica Gorbett, Michelle Shaffer, Robert Shaffer, Kaitlynn Minnie, Mike Minnie, Lindsey Scardino, Ricky Swain, Cece Swain and 5 great grandchildren. 

She had an extremely huge heart, warm infectious smile, witty sense of humor and a remarkable positive attitude. She never met a stranger and never turned down an opportunity to play Bingo.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family.  Her love and light in this world will be dearly missed.

Robert Scott George

Robert Scott George (Stork), 86 of Hernando, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2020 of natural causes. He was born to parents Louise and Michael George May 17, 1934 in Oak Park, Illinois. He married Gloria Bahr (Punkie) George in 1955. Together they had four children, seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Bob graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Geology. He was a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes basketball team where they won consecutive Big Ten Championships in the 1954-55 and 1955-56 seasons. After graduating, Bob had a successful career as a Geologist living in North Dakota, Canada, Illinois, Mississippi and Louisiana. After retiring, he spent most of his time with family and friends in California and Florida. He was involved with Habitat for Humanity building homes. He was a member of the board of directors with the Elks club where he had many wonderful friendships throughout the years.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing and attending horse shows with family. He is survived by his four children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They include Scott and Melissa George and their daughter Elizabeth, Chris George and Sharen Dyer and his children Kevin, Drew and Dori George, their spouses and children, Laura and Galand Beard, and Kimberly and Michael Clark and their children Samantha, Kyle and Kellie, their spouses and children, and his brother’s wife Linda George and daughter Katherine. He was predeceased by his parents Louise and Michael George and his brother Ken George. Memorial services will be privately held at a later date. We love you Dad!
