Connie Cordill died on August 8. 2024 in Jackson, Wyoming. She was born in Mt. Holly NJ on July 26, 1949; and grew up in Mt. Laurel New Jersey. She graduated from Glassboro State College with a BA in Education and moved to Sorrento, Florida in 1970. She worked as a special education teacher for Lake County. Connie then married John Frank Russell, Esq. moved to Crystal River, taught in the Citrus County School System and earned her doctorate from the University of Florida. After her husband’s death, she moved to Brooksville, worked as a school psychologist for the Hernando County School District and married John “Jay” Cordill and worked for Hernando County until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles David Astor and Anna Janaitis Astor, her brother Charles Vincent Astor, and two husbands, John Frank Russell, Esq. and John “Jay” Cordill. She is survived by her stepson, John “Andy” Cordill, of Ravenna, Nebraska, her sisters Judith Astor Hamlett (Joe) of Sorrento, Florida, Loretta Astor Jones of Lady Lake, Florida and her nephew, Ronald A. Jones of Lady Lake Florida. Following the death of Jay Cordill, she moved to Jackson, Wyoming; she is interned at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Jackson Wyoming.
