Star athletes, NFLers among coaches at youth football camp

Free food. Live DJ. Free football camp. NFL players. You couldn't go wrong last Saturday July 13, 2019 at Ernie Wever Youth Park in Brooksville, FL.  NFL Tyrone Goodson, HYL coach Fabian Burnett Sr. and the USA Football organization desired to give back to the Hernando County sporting community through a free fundamental football camp.   The camp featured special guests - NFL Darren Hambrick and Bill Saffore with VertiMax (a sports training equipment company).

The last weeks in May are crucial for all of Hernando County football coaches. These games are vital to see how well their team can perform and combine offense/defense strategies. They are also calculating who can fill the spots of graduating seniors.

Weeki Wachee Hornets

For Weeki Wachee, the Hornets recently have been introduced to new head coach Chris Cook, formerly the Offensive Coordinator from Moore Haven Middle High School.

Bleacher Talk: Central Bears Regional Quarter Final Baseball Against Atlantic Sharks

Beautiful night to play ball. On May 15, 2019 Central Bears went up against the Atlantic Sharks. The Sharks walked out onto the Bears’ turf. Bears didn't like it and came out growling.

Up to bat first is Sharks #1 Dalton Hurst going up against Bears pitcher #10 Rashaad Boyce.

Rashaad threw the first pitch, STRIKE !!  Boyce struck out Hurst. First out of the game.

Wednesday March 13, 2019 at Nature Coast High School, it’s a clear nice cool night for girls softball. Players are introduced and team stats provided. Springstead Eagles have five wins and two losses, while Nature Coast has four wins and three losses. Both teams stand on the field for the National Anthem, some players swaying side to side in anticipation of the game. End of the Anthem you can hear cheers echo in the cool night. Let’s play ball.

Bears shred Shark fins

BIG UPSET Friday night January 25, 2019, at the Bears Den. Central's Boys Basketball team shred the fins off Sharks winning streak. From the start of the game, the court was hot. Both teams came to battle tonight. Nature Coast swarmed the court to protect their winning streak, but the Bears came out of their den hungry. Nature Coast Shark junior #21 6' 5" Orien Adams and Centrals Bear junior #10 6'+ Rashaad Boyce started off the game.

Hernando Holiday Classic

Teams came to battle it out on the final night of the 2019 Hernando Holiday Classic held on the Leopards court in Brooksville (Jan. 1 - 4, 2019).

For the girls, the final game for third place was between Weeki Wachee Hornets and Hernando Leopards. Weeki Wachee took home the win against the Leopards. Score WW 54 – HHS 29.

The girls’ championship match was played by Armwood and Chamberlain.  Armwood beat Chamberlain 46-29.

Spring Hill Athletic Association 2018 Football Championships

Spring Hill Athletic Association is a non-profit organization, supported with volunteers. Everyone is held to a code of conduct to assist in developing social skills and positive behavior. Coaching staff, teams and league supports in the success of the athlete’s academics. The season opens every August with a Football and Cheer Jamboree.
