West Hernando Middle SRO Helps Save Choking Student

On 05-07-19, during 7th grade lunch period at West Hernando Middle School in Brooksville, Deputy Shane Landgraff was in the cafeteria when he was notified of a student in distress.

Deputy Landgraff, the school’s assigned School Resource Officer, immediately made his way to the student, who when he arrived, appeared to be choking.

He noted the student was holding their neck and chest area.

When the student failed to respond, Deputy Landgraff immediately administered three back blows to the choking student.

Spring Hill Man Sought for Dragging Dog Down Roadway

UPDATE:  Gregory Tousignant has been apprehended.

On 05-08-19 just after 9 p.m., deputies conducting proactive patrols in the area of Commercial Way and the Outback Steakhouse observed a vehicle believed to be the one described in the BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for the animal cruelty incident (arrest warrant).

Deputy Vincent Spallino conducted a Traffic Stop on the green Ford F-150 at Frontage Road just off Commercial Way in front of the Microtel.  The driver of the F-150 was identified as Gregory Tousignant.

Spring Hill Man Arrested on Attempted Murder Charges in Shooting at Spring Hill McDonald’s

 On 05-07-19 at 1:23 p.m., Hernando County sheriff’s deputies responded to the McDonald’s located at 2350 Commercial Way in Spring Hill in reference to a reported shooting.

Witnesses reported an individual riding in a gray-colored vehicle exited his vehicle and shot at the driver of a cream/beige-colored vehicle in the parking lot of McDonald’s.

When deputies arrived on scene both parties had already left McDonald’s.

Shooting investigation

Deputies are currently on the scene of shooting at the McDonald’s located at 2350 Commercial Way in Spring Hill.

The call was first reported at 1:25 p.m. Investigators say the incident doesn’t appear to be a random act.

One party received minor injuries as a result of shattering glass.

It’s important to note there were no injuries reported to patrons or employees of the restaurant who were present during the incident.

The investigation remains active and fluid.

ALERT- Deputies in pursuit of armed subject


On 05-07-19 at 12:43 p.m., Hernando County deputies were dispatched to the area of 925 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Brooksville regarding a Suspicious Incident.

A caller advised dispatchers that a neighbor came to the residence stating that a male was at the neighbor's house with a gun.  Deputies were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival at what was believed to be a Domestic Dispute, a male fled from deputies.  Multiple commands were given by deputies for the male to "stop" - the male failed to comply with said commands.

Deputies Investigating Possible Abduction

On 03-05-19 just after 12:30 p.m., Hernando County deputies were dispatched to 3262 Ambassador Avenue in Spring Hill regarding a possible Abduction.

Upon arrival, deputies met with a W/F in her mid-teens who had run to a neighbor's house for help. 

The teen advised that Ryland Wagoner W/M DOB/11-08-1997 broke into the residence (3262 Ambassador Avenue) and beat up both the teen and Shalyn Long W/F DOB/12-28-1984 before forcing Long into a vehicle and taking her with him. 

It is believed that Wagoner may have been headed to Citrus County.

Detectives Investigating Two Commercial Robberies in Spring Hill

On 02-19-19 just after 4 p.m., Hernando County deputies were dispatched to the Dollar General store, located at 331 Commercial Way in Spring Hill, regarding a Commercial Robbery.

Upon arrival, deputies met with the clerk who advised that a white male approached the register with some candy.  As the clerk was scanning the items, the male stated, in a deep voice, to "keep the register open."  The clerk believed the male needed change and was not initially alarmed.
