HCSO Searching for Suspect in Spring Hill Shooting

On 05-16-2020 at approximately 7:44 a.m., Hernando County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Usher Street in Spring Hill.

A witness reported seeing an individual fire two gunshots in the direction of the victim.

No one was injured in the shooting.

The suspect, identified as Alex Michael Alcedo H/M DOB/06-11-1990, fled the area in a silver Hyundai Santa Fe prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

Stolen ‘Spice Girls’ Doll leads to Spring Hill Man’s Arrest for Burglary

On 04-09-2020, an individual leasing a storage unit at Public Storage located at 4080 Mariner Boulevard in Spring Hill reported his storage unit was burglarized.

An unknown suspect had cut the lock to gain entry into the storage unit.

The victim reported all of the contents of his storage unit to include numerous collectibles were taken.

He estimated the value of items stolen at more than $50,000.

Vice and Narcotics Search Warrant - 871 Josephine Street, Brooksville

On 04-24-2020, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics Unit executed a residential search warrant at 871 Josephine Street in Brooksville.

Information was received regarding the distribution of narcotics occurring at this location.

Investigation revealed the resident, David Gayle B/M DOB/10-12-1976, was selling narcotics from the residence.

Deputies Arrest Juvenile for Armed Burglary

On 04-26-20 just after 7 a.m., Hernando County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a residence in Spring Hill (Silverthorn subdivision) regarding an Attempted Residential Burglary.

The caller provided the 9-1-1 operator with a thorough description of the suspect and stated he had attempted to gain access to the residence via several doors and windows and did, in fact, make entry to the screened lanai.

Deputies and Animal Enforcement Officers Seize 20 Dogs from Brooksville Property

After receiving an anonymous complaint of possible Animal Neglect, Hernando County Sheriff’s Animal Enforcement Officers (AEO) responded to 26042 Comanche Street in Brooksville to investigate.

Upon arrival, AEOs observed approximately 20 dogs, described as “Husky mixes,” in three kennels just off the front porch of the residence.

The dogs’ coats were matted with urine and feces, and their feet were soaked with urine.

Weapons Disturbance Results in Deputy-Involved Shooting 2/1/10

On 02-01-2020 at 2:33 p.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 5000 block of Golf Club Lane in Spring Hill (Silverthorn subdivision) regarding a Weapons Disturbance.

The 9-1-1 caller told the operator that a family member had a firearm and was threatening family members with it. Almost immediately, the caller told the 9-1-1 operator that the suspect was firing the weapon, inside the residence.

At some point prior to the arrival of the first deputy, the suspect shot a family member inside the residence (not the caller).

All parties involved in this incident have requested to sign waivers of prosecution. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is no longer investigating the incident.

On 01-03-20 just before 3 a.m., Hernando County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of Landover Boulevard in Spring Hill regarding a Stabbing.

Deputy Saves Child with Narcan

On 12-31-19 in the early afternoon hours, Hernando County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a residence in the northern section of the county regarding a Suicide Attempt.

Dispatchers received information that a child (younger than 13 years of age) was in the home with a sibling.  The child, in question, reportedly had just been dropped off from having attended a mental health counseling session.  The sibling in the home was unable to make contact with the child, who was inside the bathroom.

A neighbor was contacted to provide assistance.
