Show Us Your Sunshine: The Spring Lake Memorial Classic

The Spring Lake Memorial Classic, a fund-raiser hosted by The Arc Nature Coast, makes a grand return Saturday, May 29, at The Arc Nature Coast - Brooksville Campus, 5283 Neff Lake Road, Brooksville.  And while competitors course the sun-drenched hills of scenic eastern Hernando County in 10K (The Neff Lake Monster), 5K (Florida's Toughest 5K) and 2 mile (The Perfect Stroll) races, they will be helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Seniors Beware: FBI Spokesperson to Discuss Senior Scams

An agent of the FBI will be discussing a serious topic this week at the next lecture for Academia Hernando on Feb. 5: Senior Scams. The scam scenarios might seem outrageous or even humorous to some; yet a senior citizen might believe that she has made a meaningful love connection with a Nigerian prince; one who has encountered an emergency and, despite his royal status, needs her to send him money.

Art in the park 2021 poster contest

Once again next year, The Hernando County Fine Arts Council and Roots Creative Co. will host the second annual art competition for the 37th Annual Art in the Park on March 13-14th, 2021, at Tom Varn Park, 306 Darby Lane, Brooksville. Hernando County artists of all ages are invited to compete in the Second Annual Art in the Park Poster Contest. No entry fees are charged in this competition, open to artists of all experience levels.
