MODIFICATION/RENEWAL
Notice is hereby given that the Southwest Florida Water Management District has received an application from the Hernando County Utilities Department (15365 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, Florida 34613) for a modification/renewal of a water use permit to withdraw water from wells in the Consolidated Hernando County Water System. Application number: 20005789.015. The modification is to: increase total permitted annual average quantity by 1,063,300 gpd and increase total peak month quantity by 3,253,800 gpd, add five new wells in the West Hernando System, add one new well in the East Hernando System, and use of flex quantities between seven (7) existing wells (District ID Nos. 41, 42, 43, 52, 53, 55, & 61 / Permittee ID Nos. SW3, SW2, SW1, JA-1, AB-1, JA-2, & AB-2) that could potentially be abandoned during the permit period and five (5) proposed replacement wells (Permittee ID Nos. GR-4, HR-3, HR-4, WI-1, & WI-2) within the West Hernando System. The total amount of 3,452,000 gpd will be flexed between these twelve (12) wells in the modeled scenarios with the new projected annual average quantity. Predominant use type(s): Public Supply. Total requested withdrawal average daily gallons per day: 24,360,000 gpd. Peak month average gallons per day: 31,911,600 gpd. From: 60 wells. Location: Township 21 South, Range 18 East, Sections 4 and 10; Township 22 South, Range 17 East, Section 26; Township 22 South, Range 18 East, Sections 8, 19, and 30; Township 22 South, Range 19 East, Section 3; Township 22 South, Range 20 East, Sections 18, 29, and 34; Township 22 South, Range 21 East, Section 32; Township 23 South, Range 17 East, Sections 12, 15, 25, and 28; Township 23 South, Range 18 East, Sections 4, 5, 9, 11, 13, 17, 19, and 21; Township 23 South, Range 20 East, Sections 1, 3, 5, and 8; and Township 23 South, Range 21 East, Sections 3, and 11; Township 23 South, Range 21 East and 18 East, Section 6 and 17; Township 22 South, Range 18 East, Section 8 South and 35 South in Hernando County. The application is available for public inspection Monday through Friday at SWFWMD Brooksville office 2379 Broad Street, Brooksville, Florida 34604. Interested persons may inspect a copy of the application and submit written comments concerning the application. Comments must include the permit application number and be received within 14 days from the date of this notice.
