Critical thinking activity for High School: (ELA.9.C.4.1) Conduct research to answer a question, drawing on multiple reliable and valid sources, and refining the scope of the question to align with findings.

Read the editorial on page A-9 written by Steve Goodwin. Write a 350-word essay on these questions: Do you agree with his opinion on everything in the article? If so, what are your reasons for agreeing? Cite two different sources to back up your views. Do you disagree with anything? What do you agree with and why? Cite two sources for your views.
Another idea: Read a synopsis of “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu or read the whole book. It’s available as an audio book for free download on the “My Books” app. Write a 400 word summary (in your own words) of the book. Or write a 250-word summary of one of the chapters.

How does the director, Katie Marra, feel about the show and the cast?
Where and when will the show take place?
Who starred in the film version of the play?
According to the co-director, Caleb Gunn, what will be different about this production of the play?
How does Caleb hope that the audience will feel about the play?
What ages of people make up most of the members of Live Oak Theatre?
