HERNANDO SUN- FLG X Adventure Course (FLG X) will celebrate the official grand opening of its latest adventure park by donating 20 percent of all proceeds on July 13 to the Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County. The park is currently open to the public, but this will be its official grand opening ceremony.

FLG X Tampa, located in Brooksville, is the second of the company’s extreme adventure parks to open in the U.S. The park, constructed on land owned by Hernando County, features four courses nestled among local forests and contains 75 elements, including cargo nets, ziplines, bridges, ladders and tunnels.

The company’s flagship course in Flagstaff, Ariz. – just 70 miles from Grand Canyon National Park – is recognized as one of the nation’s premiere adventure courses.

“We are incredibly excited to open this new facility and to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County,” said Paul Kent, CEO of FLG X. “In addition to providing a new destination for visitors to this growing area, this opening day event provides an opportunity for us to give back to those in the community who have been incredibly welcoming to us.”

“For 20 years, we worked tirelessly to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential, no child is turned away for inability to pay.”

The Brooksville course grand opening features an all-day celebration, from 9 am – 4 pm, including food trucks and activities for area families.

This includes sample runs through the courses in the trees for adults and kids from ages nine and up and a ground-based course for those ages five to eight.

There are giant parallel racing ziplines try out for those who make a donation to the Boys & Girls Club.

X courses are designed to provide challenges to families and athletes of all levels. Courses step up in difficulty, allowing individuals to participate only in challenges they feel comfortable with. On or before July 13 only, guests can reserve spaces with the code BGC2019 at www.flgxfl.com. All online registrations will result in an extra $5 per person donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County.

FLG X provides a safe, fun, physical and unique outdoor experience in the trees. FLG X challenges guests to push their limits and overcome their fears in a supportive environment. Through shared experience, FLG X creates an opportunity to build relationships with friends and family and to leave feeling a sense of accomplishment.

The Boys and Girls Club of Hernando County enables all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their fullest potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

Hernando County was established in 1843 and is named in honor of Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto.
