A 76-year-old woman from Brooksville driving an SUV was traveling northbound on Batten Road approaching Powell Road. A 25-year-old male from Ridge Manor driving a motorcycle and wearing a helmet was traveling eastbound on Powell Road approaching Batten Road. The SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Powell Road and entered the path of the motorcycle and as a result, the front of the motorcycle struck the left side of the SUV. The driver of the motorcycle unfortunately suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The female driver of the SUV was transported to an area hospital and later expired from injuries sustained during the crash.
