On Octover 8th 2020 a 74-year-old Spring HIll man driving a pickup truck was traveling eastbound and stopped on SR-50, in the outside lane, approaching Frisco Road. Traveling behind him was a 41-year-old female from Windemere driving a truck tractor. The driver ot the truck tractor would later report that when she noticed the pickup stopped in the roadway, she stopped to ask if the driver needed any assistance. The driver of the pickup then reversed his vehicle and backed into the front of the truck tractor. He then proceeded eastbound on SR-50 towards the median, then back across the eastbound lanes before departing the roadway onto the south shoulder of the roadway. Once on the shoulder, his vehicle continued over a raised drainage culvert, became airborne, landed back on the grass shoulder, rotated, and overturned during which time the driver was ejected from the vehicle. On Thursday, October 15, 2020, the driver expired from injuries sustained during the October 8th traffic crash.
