Calling all doggie parents, August 26 is the day to celebrate your furry best friend during National Dog Day!
Humans who have dogs in their life certainly know they have an exceptional place in our hearts. They give us unconditional love, friendship, emotional support, and bring laughter in our lives.
In honor of our dogs, regardless of how much they shed or drool, Hernando Sun is asking you to post one of your favorite photos of your dog(s) on our Facebook Page- Hernando Sun | Facebook. To make August 26 extra special for your dog(s), we listed some ideas for you.
Take a Hike
The best time for you and your dog(s) is to experience the great outdoors. But before you head out the door, make sure your dog(s) are current on their flea and tick medicine. Also, bring water and a dog first aid kit.
A New Toy
Take your dog(s) to your local pet store and have them pick out their new toy. But you have to let them know it’s only one toy, or else you will be leaving the store with more than what your dog can carry in its mouth!
Pup Party
You know all the doggie(s) birthdays we missed; well, this is the opportunity to celebrate them and not feel too bad. A ton of kisses and doggie ice cream goes a long way!
Book a Trip
As a dog parent, it’s not that easy to arrange a weekend trip without our dog(s). Dog parents worry all the time about their pups. This time it may be great to explore a new place at a dog-friendly retreat and create a new adventure for you and your dog(s).
Family Fun Game
Games? What doggie doesn’t like to have fun? Games like Hide-and-Seek, Tug-a-War, and Catch me if you can are great 15-minute games to play with your pup(s). After playing a couple of these games, your pup(s) will need a nap.
Spa Day
Give your dog(s) a spa day by booking a day for a bath and paw-manicure.
Have Photo Shoot
Remember Glamour Shots? After your dog’s Spa Day, book a photography shoot with a pet photographer while your pup is all clean!
