Public Records policy revised

For the first time since 2009, the Hernando County policy on public records requests has been revised to mirror language in Florida Statutes, as well as the Government-In-The-Sunshine Manual.  At the December 14, 2021 regular meeting, the Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt the new revisions.

The revisions more clearly define the county’s role in providing records when requested, and avenues available to the public to make those requests. The new policy also adds a provision that allows for an online portal to submit requests, which is expected to become available this month.

Requests can currently be emailed to  [email protected] or a requester can call 352-540-6426.
