Soaring ceilings, shining finishes, grand lanais, swimming pools and master suites, gourmet kitchens, spa-like baths and grand columned entryways, even a built-in waterfall highlight the 16 glowing entries in the 2022 Hernando Showcase of Homes. With styles ranging from traditional to tropical, and with available square footage ranging from just short of 1,500 to well over 3,000 in size, these beautiful homes represent exquisite examples of style ‘in-residence.’

Sunrise Propane and the Hernando Builders Association are proud to present the 2022 Hernando Showcase of Homes. Models will be open Monday-Saturday February 25 – March 13, 10 AM-5 PM, and on Sunday 12 PM-5 PM.
“You and your family will be able to view some of the finest-built affordable homes on the Nature Coast. This self-guided tour is a unique opportunity to see “WHAT’S NEW?” in new homes offered by our local building industry,” read the showcase website at https://www.hernandoshowcaseofhomes.com/; a comprehensive site that features detailed information and photos of each model entry as well as address, directions, and maps to each of the homes on display so you can plan your parade route. Also available are virtual tours to showcase some of the custom designs available from local custom home builders. “Featuring home builders from Hernando County, there is sure to be a model home to view in a neighborhood close to you.”

Representing the work of 10 major builders across Brooksville, Spring Hill, and online via virtual models, these homes also represent the latest and finest in home designs, innovative home products, decor, technology, energy efficiency, and comfort, plus luxurious extras such as modern kitchens, relaxing owners’ suites, as well as great spaces for entertaining family inside and out.

“These are homes with great features, spread out across the community,” said Nita Beckwith-Melaugh, Certified Executive Officer of Hernando Builders Association.

This year’s showcase will feature one model in Brooksville, eight in Spring Hill, and seven virtual models. The builders represented are newcomers Modern Day Builders II, Inc. and Townsley Builders Inc., in addition to
returning builders Alexander Custom Homes, Artistic Homes, Dream Custom Homes, Palmwood Construction, Pastore Custom Builders, ProbuiltU.S., Royal Coachman, and Legendary Construction and Remodeling.

Halie Eaton, Chairwoman of Showcase of Homes and co-owner of ProbuiltU.S., says that this showcase–enjoying more than 30 years of success in Hernando County–is growing bigger and better with the passing of years.
“We have a couple of new builders and 16 houses total,” she said. “And homebuyers are not limited, in that they can work with these builders to custom build their homes.”

Many of these homes, she says, boast some very special features.

“We’re seeing more center islands in kitchens and kitchen upgrades, as people are entertaining more at home,” said Eaton. “For the same reason, people are asking for bigger family and living rooms, and game rooms.”
In-law suites are also increasingly popular, she said, as are all of the options and choices that today’s builders are offering buyers in terms of customization.

Both Halie Eaton and Nita Beckwith-Melaugh see encouraging growth in the home building market–especially in Hernando County.

“There is so much growth here in Hernando County,” said Eaton. “Especially in the Royal Highlands and Ridge Manor area.”
Nita Beckwith-Melaugh agrees.

“It’s a hot market,” she declared. “The market is going crazy, and it’s a good time to purchase a home. Builders are busier than they have been in years, and we’re seeing tremendous growth in Hernando. It’s very exciting.”

Participating builders also are excited about their participation in the Showcase of Homes.

“We’ve participated for years as a support for the builders association, and as the Showcase presents a chance to get recognition for all of the builders in the association,” said Mark Alexander, president of Alexander Custom Homes. “It’s a positive thing, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

First-time showcase participant Joshua McDermott, who co-owns Townsley Construction with Ann McDermott, is proud to present his first event model, The Harper.

“Our virtual entry, The Harper House, has high-end finishes, all wood cabinets, high tray ceilings, it measures 2600 square feet,” he said. “Through this virtual model, you can see all the home has to offer. We’re excited to be a part of this, to help us grow our company and show what we have to offer.”

Palmwood Construction will present Cabana Cay and Cabana Key at the Showcase of Homes.

“Palmwood has been a member of the builders association for 30 plus years. We are a family-owned business,” explained VP Chris Glover. “The association and the showcase are a great way to pool our resources, and to bring more people to Hernando County.”

Dream Custom Homes, founded in 1994 by brothers Matt and Barry Burich, will present a trio of models in the Showcase of Homes.

“We take each new home feature, from granite countertops to outside windows, as one musical note, one sound,” he explained. “We strive to make each completed home a masterpiece for the client.”

“The Showcase offers you the best, most efficient way to get your models to the masses,” said Matt Burich. “You see a plethora of homes, featuring everything everyone would want in a home.”

Andy Carr, VP Growth and Development, at Sunrise Propane, the showcase’s presenting sponsor commented, “Sunrise propane is proud once again to be the presenting sponsor of the Hernando County Builder’s association Showcase of Homes. This is our 6th year sponsoring the event, and it looks like it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.
