Due to weather this event has been cancelled.

The sounds of symphonic rhapsody will ring free through the air at 1 pm on Saturday, March 12th, at the Hernando County Fine Arts Council’s 37th Annual Art in the Park. The Hernando Symphony Orchestra will take to the stage for a spring concert performed at Tom Varn Park, an amazing park surrounded by beautiful oak trees in Brooksville.

Art in the Park is an annual event dedicated to fine art, craftsmanship, and community that creates a unique opportunity and tradition for artists, collectors, and patrons of the arts. Artists and artisans will showcase a wide variety of works and media throughout the event. “We will be performing selections from our Spectrum concert series,” explained HSO Conductor Michele DiLuzio. The HSO Spectrum concert features Silverado, The Blues Brothers, Jersey Boys, Band of Brothers, The Prince of Egypt, Skydance, Chariots of Fire and Shenandoah Simple Gifts, and more. Some of these selections will be played in the open air at Art in the Park, which will continue through March 13th.

The Hernando Symphony Orchestra is a community institution and premier pops orchestra now celebrating its 39th season. And DiLuzio looks forward to bringing the sounds of the Symphony to Art in the Park. She stated, “We look forward to providing this free concert experience for members of our community.” Admission to Art in the Park is free, with a suggested donation of $5 for parking. All donations support the arts community of Hernando County.
