A Brooksville man is dead after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a pick-up truck near the intersection of US-98 and Mondon Hill Road on Thursday evening May 19, 2022.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a pick-up truck driven by a 48-year-old man from Port Richey, Ga. was traveling west on US-98 approaching the intersection with Mondon Hill Road while a motorcycle driven by a 34-year-old man from Brooksville was traveling north on Mondon Hill Road. At the same time, a sedan driven by a 52-year-old woman from Brooksville was stopped in the eastbound inside travel lane of US-98.

When the driver of the pick-up truck failed to observe a red traffic signal, the truck proceeded into the intersection and into the path of the motorcycle where it collided with that vehicle.

As a result of the impact, the motorcycle collided with the Brooksville woman’s sedan.

The Brooksville motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was taken to an area hospital where he later died from the injuries he sustained in the incident.
