Two airplanes containing about 50 illegal immigrants arrived on Martha’s Vineyard after Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered the flights on Wednesday, Sept. 14. In ordering the relocation, DeSantis joined Republican Governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Doug Ducey of Arizona.

According to reports, the 50 migrants including families and children reportedly from Columbia and Venezuela arrived in Martha’s Vineyard, a tiny town on Cape Cod in Massachusetts on Sept. 14.

During a Sept. 15 press conference in Niceville, DeSantis said that he takes the situation at the southern border “very seriously.”

“We are not a sanctuary state and it’s better to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction,” he said. “And yes we will facilitate that transport for you.”
Blaise Ingoglia, Florida State Representative District 35 (Rep) and State Senate candidate, called states’ open border and sanctuary city policies “a disaster.”

“The problem with the (Washington) DC politicians and the left is that they rarely if ever personally feel the effects of the problems they create,” he said. “Now they will.”

In a video post on Twitter, Charlie Crist, former Republican governor of Florida, former Independent Senate candidate, and current Democrat politician challenging DeSantis in the upcoming contest for the state’s corner office, accused DeSantis of “using refugee families and children as political pawns.”

“He’s on the wrong side of history (on this),” Crist Tweeted. “When you are this inhumane in how you treat human beings, you’re not qualified to be governor of anything.”

DeSantis had this to say about flying immigrants to various parts of the country.

“Biden would fly people in the middle of the night, dump them all across this country; where there is no warning on any of this. All those people in DC and New York were beating their chest when Trump was president- saying they were so proud to be sanctuary jurisdictions- saying how bad it was to have a secure border. The minute even a small fraction of what those border towns deal with every day is brought to their front door they all of a sudden they go berserk and they’re so upset this is happening. It just shows you their virtue signaling is a fraud.”

In ordering the relocations, DeSantis joined Republican Governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Doug Ducey of Arizona.

On Thursday, Sept. 15 Abbott ordered 101 Venezuelan and Colombian undocumented border crossers to be bussed from his state to Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.
