A toddler was fatally injured after he entered the path of a sedan and was struck by the vehicle.

According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Spokesman Sgt. Steve Gaskins, just after 8 a.m on Oct. 16, a 55-year-old Spring Hill man was driving a Lincoln Town car towing a trailer southbound along US 41 in Brooksville. Meanwhile, a 3-year-old Brooksville boy was walking with a parent westbound on Evening Star Avenue.

At the intersection, the toddler entered the path of the car and was struck and killed. The car came to a controlled stop immediately after the incident.
