A Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy is on administrative leave after being involved in a shooting in Spring Hill.

According to the HCSO, around 2:40 a.m., on Nov. 12, deputies arrived at a residence at 12480 Feather St. in Spring Hill to serve a felony warrant.

At the scene, they made contact with the adult, white male named in the warrant, and shots were fired. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No deputies were harmed in the incident, the HCSO said.

As with all deputy-involved shootings, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is conducting an investigation into the incident. That investigation is in the preliminary stages.
