The 1885 Depot Museum on Russell Street in Brooksville is now honored with the placement of a State of Florida Historic Site marker in front of the building.
The official dedication of the marker took place on Saturday, November 5th. The Historic Hernando Preservation Association obtained the funds necessary to purchase the sign and got the ball rolling. Museum board member and Depot manager, Linda Welker wrote the text cast on the sign for future generations to learn the history of the Depot.
Speakers at the ceremony included Preservation Society President Jan Knowles, City of Brooksville Mayor Pat Braydon and Adventure Coast Development Manager Tammy Heon. Refreshments were provided by Winn Dixie.
